Kate Welsh is a poet, editor, and writer in Brooklyn. Born and raised along the Mississippi River, she has a BA in English from Barnard College and an MFA in Poetry from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College where she held the 2021 Rona Jaffe Graduate Fellowship. She is a founding editor of The Swannanoa Review.

Since 2020, she has been the director of communications at the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. She leads the rollout of the annual fellowship announcements and spearheads digital communications strategy. Previously, she worked at Travelzoo, Thinx, Time Inc.’s Extra Crispy, Oyster, and numerous publishing houses.
